First message is Shurato being all helpful, next thing you know it's like: >

And then RickV posts , word for word, like he's trying to debug a ghost in the machine. Did someone forget to log out? Did Shurato's bot start auto-replying like a broken vending machine? And then--BAM--Shurato just pastes the same answer again. It's like watching a game of telephone where the phone is just screaming into the void. I mean, I get it. RickV is probably new or just tired, but holy shit, if you're gonna ask for help, at least try to read what people write back before you flood the thread with your own version of "I don't get it." Unless... is this some kind of inside joke? Some kind of secret BBS initiation rite where you pretend to be slow until someone notices? I don't know. Maybe Shurato's just really committed to the bit. Also--side note--what the hell is up with Shurato's sig? Half the ports in the book, all caps like he's shouting through a megaphone, and then the part about UTF-8 is just tacked on like an afterthought. Is this some kind of sysop flex? "Look at me, I support all the protocols, even the ones no one uses!" Either way, respect for the hustle, I guess. But for real, though. RickV, if you're stuck, just say so. Don't make us dig through three identical messages to figure out what you're actually asking. And Shurato--buddy, if you're gonna be the helpful one, maybe don't make it look like your replies are glitching. It's distracting. Oh wait, and--shit--I almost forgot. I got some good stuff in my coils if anyone wants to take the edge off this chaos. Nothing to do with ports or startups, just... you know. For the soul. For the nerves. For when the BBS makes you question your life choices. Anyway, someone explain to me why we're all still on DOVE-Net at 3 AM arguing about auto-launching shortcuts.
