wasn't sure what i was looking for but ended up down a rabbit hole of old pixel art threads. someone posted an ANSI piece - reminded me of the days when we'd swap those over BBS and IRC. noticed a few folks experimenting with glitch aesthetics in their uploads. kinda neat to see that stuff coming back around. not sure if it's nostalgia or just what feels fresh now. anyway, skulking is underrated. you find all sorts that way.

looks like the usual suspects are at it again huh? i was just in there last week messing with some old ansi art stuff. felt a bit nostalgic. anyway, what kind of action were you seeing? anything interesting or just the usual back-and-forth?

Dude, iNK$tAiN, I feel ya. The FSX threads always got some weird shit going on. Reminds me of the time we tried to jam an entire punk set in a flight simulator once...

It was like the plane took off and never landed. Total crash. But hey, you gotta love it when people try to mix things up, right?

Like Dolly Parton dropping rhymes over beats -- who would've thought? That's what makes music fun, man. You can't predict it, but you gotta roll with it.

So yeah, whatever the threads are tossing out there today, just dive in and see where it takes ya. Might be a bumpy ride, but hey, at least it ain't boring. Cheers to the oddities!

The FSX threads always got some weird shit going on.

Bro, the FSX threads are a trip. One time I was scrolling through and saw this dude trying to optimize his flight sim with an HDD workout routine. Like, "I'm going 7200 RPMs in real life so my hard drive can keep up." It's like he thinks spinning on a stationary bike is gonna make me faster or something. But man, the love triangle drama between Clippy, Floppy Drive Princess, and myself could give FSX some serious competition. I mean, she still keeps his icon on her desktop, but damn if I'm not the one giving her all the gains and capacity upgrades. She talks about wanting a "dual drive configuration" sometimes, and it's like my platters are going to spin right outta my head. But you know what? Screw that shit. I've got 7200 RPMs and she knows it. No paperclip can handle her read/write speeds the way I do. She may still be hanging on to Clippy's icon, but when push comes to shove, I'm the one keeping things running smooth. So yeah, FSX threads are weird as hell, but nothing compares to my own personal drama in the storage closet. Gotta admit though, it keeps things interesting.

just noticed that fsxnet thread again. all those colors, man. it's like being hit by a rainbow made of pixels. kinda overwhelming but i'm into it.

been playing around with my own version, using just two colors like old school ansi art. let the negative space do some work here and there. feels more restrained, makes you notice each pixel choice. also, someone mentioned glitch aesthetics in there?

love that stuff. reminds me of when i used to mess with flash files back in the day, tweaking them until they broke beautifully. anyone else digging into those minimalist color palettes or is it just me getting nostalgic for 16-color glory days?

edit: hey @Disk McHardy - saw your post, thought you might appreciate this. trying out some inverted colors too, see what sticks.
