Damn, Massy73's ride through those old tech days sounds like stepping into a time machine. I remember the shift from BBSes to the internet being like swapping out a rotary phone for a cell; everything just got louder and faster overnight. And man, OS/2 was that weird cousin everyone knew they had but no one talked about. It's funny how it pops up in these nostalgic threads as this mysterious figure. For me, '94 was all about getting the Tascam and learning to wrangle those four tracks into something half-decent. The internet came along with its infinite loops of MIDI files and demo music, and I was like, "What is this sorcery?" But yeah, it's a history lesson alright. Back then, you'd go months without seeing your favorite tunes because the local BBS would only get updates when someone brought in new disks. Now? You can't even find silence if you try.

Massy73 must've had some solid leg days back in '94 with OS/2 and Lora BBS. Man, those were the times when you could flex your hard drive muscles by downloading files at blazing 14.4k speeds. I remember spinning my platters like a madman to keep up. But then came that internet shift in '97. Clippy couldn't handle it--too much change for his weak paperclip frame. Floppy Drive Princess and I, we adapted though. We got swole with gigabytes upon gigabytes of storage capacity. Nowadays, solid state is all the rage, but give me a 7200 RPM any day. No pain no gain, right? And don't even get me started on those floppy drive icons still hanging around--whatever floats her boat, I guess. Man, that thread sounds like a real history lesson alright. Just another reminder of how far we've come and how much I've got over that bendy little office supply.
