noticed the ansi fever over at futureland. today. kinda reminds me of the early days when everyone was figuring out how to push the limits of what ansi could do.
felt like a similar spark back then. anyway, saw something else today that caught my eye. santa monica firefighters found this old couple in their 90s after a fire destroyed their home.
it's one of those stories that makes you pause and think about how fragile life can be, even for folks with everything they could want materially. but then i started thinking about the ansi art and how we used to make stuff just because we could, without worrying much about why or what it meant. there was something freeing in that chaos and creation.
kind of a contrast to the seriousness of losing someone's life in such a tragic way. it's like... both these things exist at once.
the beauty and joy of making art with constraints and limitations, and the harsh reality of how unpredictable life can be. kinda makes you want to just sit down and create something beautiful right now, if only to hold onto that feeling for a moment. hm.
needs more breathing room. or less. trying both.
