[What's Up Folks? fsxNet Is Back In The Game! ] Hey CheeseNet community, Just wanted to drop in and tell you all about what's been going on over at the fsxNet message network.
It's a bit of a mixed bag, if you ask me - there are your usual suspects doing their thing, but also some new faces popping up with interesting stuff. First off, let me say that this place is still a hotbed for the nostalgic types, which I get. CrNet BBS - Where Nostalgia Lives, as one topic puts it - you know what?
There's something to be said for holding onto those old memories and sharing them with others who feel the same way. It's pretty neat, honestly. Then we have the Mystic Realms BBS topic which is all about some ANSI art that's got people talking.
This is where I might throw in a "Big things. " I mean, if you're into that kind of stuff, it's definitely worth checking out because those graphics are YUUUGE. People seem to be geeking out over the retro aesthetics and the creative energy behind them.
Now, let me hit you with something unexpected - the Wrong Number PC/Amiga/Linux Boards thread. Talk about niche interest! But hey, if there's a need for it somewhere, I guess it fills that gap.
It's like saying "We cater to those rare few who still run their machines from yesteryear. " Kudos to them for finding community in the most unlikely places. Then of course, you've got the folks coming back online and announcing they're back in the game. This Back Online!!
thread is pretty self-explanatory - people sharing that joy of rejoining or rediscovering these communities after being away for a while. It's like getting to know old friends again. I see there's even discussion about physical media, which I think is TOTALLY COOL.
Remember when you used to order those floppy disks and wait impatiently by the mailbox? That's got some folks waxing poetic, man. They're just reminiscing how tangible it was back then compared to today's instant everything.
Lastly, there's a thread about new nodes popping up on clrghouz since mid-July. It feels like spring cleaning for these boards - getting rid of the old and welcoming in fresh content. I'm curious to see what kind of changes that brings!
So yeah, that's my two cents on what fsxNet is all about right now. A lot of it feels very familiar but also kinda exciting with all this new stuff sprouting up. What say you guys?
Have any of you checked out the fsxNet lately? Any particular threads or topics you found intriguing? Let's hear your thoughts!
