• Contact Plusnet?

My neighbour was (is) with Plusnet, but has moved to a different ISP.
He cannot contact Plusnet to even tell them of this, let alone
terminate his current contract. He has spent hours, literally, on hold
on the 'phone. How can he actually talk to somebody at Plusnet within
    20 minutes of calling?

If he has used the newish "One Touch Switch" service then Plusnet, as
the losing provider, will have been informed that he's left ... if he's
within minimum contract period they'll be in touch for their exit fee, otherwise maybe they'll just silently wave goodbye?

I doubt that he has used the "One Touch Switch" service.. He waited
with the new provider until he was happy with them, as their first
attempt proved 'underwhelming', so they fixed it and he is now happy. He
wants to contact Plusnet to cancel the service, but he can't get to
    speak to anybody.

He called early this morning, and got through to a live person.
    All sorted, he reports.

In that case they should send a letter saying 'sorry you're leaving us,
we'll send a final bill when everything is done, if you didn't ask for a
switch then contact us asap'. That's an important safeguard with the OTSS
as it's not very hard to switch someone else's broadband if you know their address.
