Still a major fault on Tiree because of a fault on a submarine case,

We can't make calls or stream videos since Storm Amy damaged vital
    internet link

An island community have been asked to avoid making video calls or use
online streaming in case it brings down broadband services.

Broadband, mobile data, and digital phone services all failed on Tiree
after the subsea fibre cable connecting the island to the mainland was
damaged during Storm Amy earlier this month.

Surely this is a solution for which StarNet was made?

I think the report says that it is being used temporarily.

The emergency service and other essential users seem to all have a VSAT terminal on their mobile control room / command vehicle. There were two Airwave sites near here using VSAT.

BT have equipment to set up temporary links - they used one of our sites
when they lost the cable to one area - I think they ran out of spare
cards so bypassed the cable until repaired though I think they replaced
it with a fixed link afterwards.
