Funny how you get used to the modern wider aspect ratios.

There was a VE Day programme on BBC Scotland last night, it was only
from 2005 but seemed strange with the narrower screen format.

DOCUMENTARY: Scotland's VE Day: Countdown to Victory
    On: BBC Scotland HD
Date: Wednesday 7th May 2025 (Already shown)
    Time: 20:00 to 21:00 (1 hour long)

Another chance to see a 2005 programme in which Scottish veterans of the Second World War reflect on the final week of the conflict. They reveal incredible tales of endurance, compassion and cruelty, including
Scottish PoWs held hostage by their Russian 'allies', while at home an exhausted nation awaited the final German surrender.

Thank you for that. It's on iPlayer until June. I've just told
get_iplayer to download it for me so I can watch it some time.

Oh... that's interesting... 35 seconds in is a picture of a radio set,
and the knobs aren't round... and I've just tried it again on a trusted
TV instead of a media player!

It looks as though they cropped it top and bottom to make it 16:9, then
left the 4:3 flag on. Or is that just me?
