I ordered a small electronic item for -u14 (including postage). In the description it said designed and made in the USA but I judge most of the advertising to be somewhat in the b******t territory. IrCOm not expecting
this cheap device to fully live up to expectations but I thought I would
give it a go. I was expecting some some Chinese made device shipped from China.
Tracking tells me that itrCOs actually being shipped from the USA. So far
10 days since dispatch and a few days ago it reached US customs. Today
IrCOm informed that it has been inspected by US customs. Is it common for small packages to be inspected by customs of the sending country?
Perhaps itrCOs the export of advanced electronics to non-approved
countries that need to be blocked. The advert did boast that it
contained a super advanced chip designed by AI. :)

I don't know the answer, but a couple of years ago, I sent some tax
forms off to the US IRS. I chose Royal Mail Tracked, as all the courier services required a named person at the destination, which was
impossible to get. They were eventually delivered after 53 days in
transit. But at least I knew where they were sitting, but not moving,
    during the trip.
I have had a simple form in a FedEx envelope refused by the
local FedEx drop-off place for lack of a Customs form, but the advice
they were given was wrong, it didn't need a form. So FedEx sent a large
lorry to pick up the envelope from my house.
