... to prerecord the "next programme" announcements that are played over
the end credits of the preceding one? (On the minor channels.)
I presume these _are_ prerecorded, and played from a file under a
    scheduling computer control.
The person saying (well, recording) it clearly has no knowledge of the programme it's being played over the end credits of, as they never say
"more" or "again", when the next programme is one from the same series
    as the one just ending.
"Next, there is an xxx problem to solve in Poplar. It's 'Call the
Midwife.'" "Next, Michael Portillo travels from X to Y in 'Great Railway Journeys'". Always spoken brightly and with enthusiasm - but with the
lack of any indication that the program over whose credits they are
saying this is one of the same.
(Several of the minor channels are now in the habit of presenting two
episodes of the same prog. in succession - one or two of them do
    marathons, of six, nine, twelve!)

That is what presenters are paid to do even if they know the programme
is rubbish and few will be watching or many will be watching because it
    is rubbish. :-)

Some, online in particular, criticise all presenters but it is easy to
see those can do it well and those who cannot.

The thing that can confuse me, when skipping ad breaks on the
PVR, is trailers for a programme inserted into a break in that
very same programme. What is the point?
