    I remember the local TV channel in Oxford in the early 2000s.
    "Amateurish" is too kind a word ;-)

    Newsreaders who looked like rabbits caught in the headlights, hideous bleaching of highlights in studio shots, a general air of "what the F
    are we doing".

    About the only good thing was a nature and conservation series called
    "Wild" presented by a zoologist called Sasha Norris.

    When it first opened, there were a few programmes of local
    interest, but they then just repeated them year after year.

    They had "Notts on Stage", which was quite interesting, shown
    endlessly for about a month, until a new episode was made, but
    the EPG only had a generic description, whilst the coding meant
    that my PVR could not separate new from old.
