    Is that bonkers? Evil obviously to bomb anyone anyway but I am
    surprised to find the meaning of Christmas is to deny peace to people
    you don't like.

    Try listening to King Charles III Christmas Day speech 2025. Compare
    that to what Trump is saying in the video you linked to. Rather
    different, isn't it?

    So who are you going to believe? Donald Trump, or the King?

    That does seem to be a favoured modern translation. It is, however, contradicted by the announcement of the first angel: "behold, I bring
    you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people."

    There is, of course, a contrast between God's intention or desire, and
    what actually happens. God intends peace on earth, but certainly those
    who reject Him will not receive peace or joy or anything else. So I
    suppose in that sense it is only men of goodwill who receive peace - but
    that is their choice, not God's.
