All three of my Guzzis have had valve clearance checks every service. Not exactly an engine-out exercise.

I do my 2012 VStrom 24kkm service (the big one) every 40kkm, and having followed the valve clearances, I dread this next 160kkm they will need adjusting. -> Cams out -> Getting at tensioners -> Wait what?
The one for the rear is hidden behind the frame (probably not on the original SV). Suzukis SM only show the work with the engine out. Haynes suggests taking the rear suspension off.
I hope for a creative spark, when I get the dress off.
I should also do the air balance, at least I have the software and other tools. --
