    For those not on FB.

I've been on a bit of a roll recently working through servicing/improving/fixing my hoard^H^H^H^H collection of motorbikes.
Today I finally got around to looking at the Beeza I've owned since 1976.

Around 5 years ago it got a bit of a revamp, I rode it brifely but it
wasn't running right and began a horrible death rattle. (See video in
the link). I put it on the ramp where I'm slightly embarassed to admit
it stayed there until a few weeks ago.

I took the head off and found that one of the pistons has been hitting something, almost certainly a valve. My guess was it was caused by
    either big or little end.

I removed the barrels and quickly found the big end's gone.

    Dangit, full strip down required.

I suspect oil starvation, probably from blocked sludge trap/lack of use.

It's a whole lot easier to work on than a modern bike for sure.

'twas ever thus, particularly with twins, it seems. AMC 360 degree twins
had centre main bearings and primitive fabric oil filters that sort of imploded if the oil wasn't changed regularly, also, without a book of
lies there wasn't much about of their existence, so some were not
changed for years. Low oil pressure to the centre main and the big ends
    soon came out in sympathy.

And after you get Ben's Cobra sorted, pop over to Minneapolis and
you can lend a hand toward getting my 1978 GL1000 off the bike lift
    and back on the road.

I've not had my A10 for quite that long - but it's got to the stage
where it needs a complete rebuild. Sadly I'm not yet able to either
ride it or rebuild it, but hopefully things should get better with time.

My Enfield Bullet also needs a new big end. I last did it back in 2007
and it's had a lot of abuse since then. Ah well, at least it give me
    something to do.

    Cheers.
