    I knew I should not have got shut of my V100 :-( , I've only got
    "modern" SPARCs now, no SCSI ports (so not sure why I hang on to he cables).

    One day I will get the data off this DAT tape from my Triplex days (1990s)

    One day I will get the data off this DAT tape from my Triplex days (1990s)


    I just powered it up to remove the tapes that were in it. The
    load/unload mechanism seems to work but it was complaining about the
    drive itself being offline.

    The tapes are only 40Gb (80 compressed) anyway so it's no use to me. I
    see that newer LTO tapes are > 1Tb now which would be more interesting
    but the drives are expensive.

    Off to the tip it goes.
