I see the cyclist has played the rCymental healthrCO card.

On a path thatrCOs very narrow, how was the cyclist going to give two people and a big dog 1.5m of clearance, given that pedestrians are more vulnerable than cyclists?

There isnrCOt any video in the article so we donrCOt know from that if she slipped while trying to pass the vulnerable pedestrians, or the big dog protected its owners by removing a threat to them.

For some reason I canrCOt get a link, but if you search YouTube for rCyKlaudia Mitura canalrCO you should find the Manchester Evening News video of the encounter.

To my mind sherCOs travelling too fast, and for some insane reason sherCOs travelling on a narrow path, next to the canal, and her feet are clipped
into the pedals, a disaster waiting to happen.

ThererCOs no video of a push, and it could be said that she wobbles slightly off the canal side of the path as she passes the couple, and gravity does
    the rest.

What happened to consideration and respect and goodwill between all
people using paths, roads, tracks etc?
It is so much nicer to lake friends rather than to treat any minor inconvenience as a casus belli.

Sadly, cyclists are their own worst enemy in this regard. Maintaining
momentum seems to trump every other consideration, such as pedestrians,
traffic lights, one-way streets, footways and footpaths, and the rest.

I was walking with Mrs Spike one morning to see our son take part in a
local sporting event. As we came up to a traffic-light controlled junction, round the blind corner, on the footway, came a couple on a tandem: big,
heavy, taking up more than half of the footway, no warning bell sounding.
In surprise we jumped out of the way, and I pointed to the cycle lane in
the carriageway and said rCLGet in the cycle lane!rCY. The answer to this was rCLFuck off!rCY. He just couldnrCOt bother to stop at the red traffic light or sound his bell (if he even had one). And cyclists wonder why they have a
    bad name.

Like the case where the, innocent women was jailed, no evidence of the
    cyclist being pushed.
