IrCOve been on an Avanti Evero (class 805) for the first time, between Crewe and Chester. The seats are more comfortable than LNERrCOs but IrCOd still say they arenrCOt brilliant. IrCOve been on a whole collection of trains, starting with a Cross Country Lite to Nuneaton (which hit a tree en route delaying
us for half an hour whilst everything was inspected etc) and then a couple
of LNWR electrics to get to Crewe (the first one was supposed to go to
Crewe but got prematurely terminated at Stafford for reasons unexplained).
On the return it was a TfW Diesel unit to Crewe, an EMR all shacks to Derby
and finally a 222 from Derby. I have to say that all of them were more comfortable than the Evero. The other thing I canrCOt pit my finger on is
that every 80x train IrCOve used feel more claustrophobic than any other
stock, including the 222 which has residual tilt profile. Overall IrCOm not a great fan of the 80x series.
