Ah'ernoon from a milder, dry, bright and partially sunny day here in
South Yorkshire. Temperature out there is 6.6C, but feeling much more
like 3C with the, up to 20 mph gusty winds from the SSW. Barometric
pressure is steady at 976.4 mB with the RH showing as 88%. Forecast is
for it to cloud over and become overcast by mid-afternoon and remain so
for the rest of the day and overnight. There'll be a 60% chance of precipitation overnight from around 21:00. Temperature should peak at
8C, more like 3C around the early afternoon, and will the hover around
6C, like 2C overnight. Enjoy your day everyone and continue striving to
    stay safe and sound.
No change from Mollie yet, she's continue eating, drinking, using
her litter tray - and telling me to clean it out regularly and playing a
bit too. But she is still strictly ignoring the outside, eve though the
rescue shelter insist that she is an outdoor cat. She has not yet
bothered to look out of a window at the world outside, even when I put
her on the dressing table in the front bedroom. She just got down on to
the floor and walked away. The only furniture she's been on so far in
the sofa, in the lounge where she snoozes throughout most of the
evenings. When she's ready for bed she sidles quietly into the dining
room and settles down under the table or chair there for the night.
She's on the front bedroom bed right now, but only because I carried her
there when I came up to the computer, an hour ago.

Given the weather what cat would want to be outside?

But give her time, we had a cat, Ginger, who moved in after lurking around for some weeks. Once "in" he would go out , he had decided we were his. He was, the
vet reckoned, about 18 months and possibly lost in a house move. A few years later we moved and he wouldn't step outside for a long time, despite our other cat happily going out after a couple of days. He would even run upstairs if we opened the door.

Once he settled right down he became very much an outdoor cat again.

Looking like patience is still a virtue then. :)

My wife remembers that they moved house when she was a young girl in the 1950s. They moved with their cat. In the new house the cat immediately
hid under the sideboard, and had to be fed under there for the first two
days, after which it would be tempted out for food but would always hide
under the sideboard to sleep. The cat obviously thought being there was
a safe place in a strange house. Despite having the normal family
around it took almost a month to get confident enough in the new
surroundings that it felt it unnecessary to hide away to sleep.

It looks like you will have to be patient with Mollie, in a new and
strange place and also with a new (and strange?) owner. The fact that
she talks to you so soon is a very encouraging sign.

    Jim
