    much snippage

But she was above the age of criminal responsibility in America, and she would surely
have been prosecuted for similar crimes that Ghislaine Maxwell committed, were it not
for the fact that the prosecutors of Epstein and Maxwell needed her evidence so chose
    not to prosecute her.

While also choosing not to call her as a witness

    quote:

Virginia Giuffre's posthumous book has revealed her grief at not being allowed to
testify against Ghislaine Maxwell because her narrative was seen as too complicated
for the jury: "I'd named so many names."

    :unquote

    https://www.newsweek.com/virginia-giuffre-ghislaine-maxwell-case-names-epstein-nobodys-girl-10910964

    "Her grief".

When then real reason she wasn't called, so its believed, is simply because her
testimony might well have been torn apart in the witness box; and thus
    helped undermine the whole case.

Whereas the actual reason Andrew and others decided it best not to give her "her day in Court" was probably because they feared she might take advantage of legal privilege to make further allegations from the witness box; to
be duly reported on that evenings TV news and in the next days papers.
Many of which would be impossible to thoroughly discredit at short notice
to the satisfaction of that self same media; if at all.

While by way of contrast, following the settlement with Law Professor Alan Dershowitz....

    quote:

The accuser, Virginia Giuffre, said in a statement that she was young at the time she was trafficked by Epstein and in a "very stressful and traumatic environment." Giuffre had alleged that Epstein had trafficked her to Dershowitz between 2000 and 2002, but Dershowitz long denied her claim.

"I now recognize I may have made a mistake in identifying Mr. Dershowitz," her statement said.

    :unquote

    https://edition.cnn.com/2022/11/08/us/alan-dershowitz-virginia-giuffre-allegations-dropped

"I now recognise I may have made a mistake".

Does that admission feature in her book I wonder ? Or is there any mention of Alan Dershowitz at all ?

I didn't reject Billy's post and I would guess that the rejection was a mistake. Before reading this thread I accepted an identical post from Billy. --- Synchronet 3.21a-Linux NewsLink 1.2

I assumed it was the software.

Which like a lot of legacy software, is now possibly as impenetrable to the moderators as it is to anyone else.
