I have a feeling that Ms Mitic may only have penned one previous week of episodes; if wrong I apologise.

I felt that much of Monday was simply not worth the airtime - it took
stock aspects of Jakob's character and used them without any real feel
for what has been said previously (when he had come round to the idea of heading to Scotland) but played on his general demeanour.

Writing George's insecurities would always be difficult - but I cannot
think how Will suddenly has -u500 given his lack of a permanent job.
Plus why, when he was asked about working at Bodge Farm and said he was
busy beating, did he not suggest George?

An episode which was not worthy of the airtime it received.

    (Will did not volunteer George)
...because Will can read the room, maybe? I imagine that there are
those at Bodge Farm who would rather let the crops rot in the fields
than have George come and work for them.

The other non-room-reader seems to be Susan and I think her "either he
stays or I go" attitude to the Village Shop is a bluff waiting to be
    called.

George: do the decent thing and GTFO. You could even start a new life
in another part of USENET where nobody knows your name: there are
still active groups in the uk.hierarchy which have never heard of you
and which (being George, who wouldn't know about these things) can
even be accessed through your mobile phone via pugleaf.net

I doubt if any of us needed to be told who penned those words, Nick.
    Your style is, well... yours.

I might remind you that Pat of Bodge Farm stood up for George and even
Tony acknowledged he did a decent job. It is the one place in the
village where non-Grundy people are able to accept that there are two
    sides to young Georgie.
