• Does anybody know how long Olivia Bernstone's contract is set to last? (Spoilerish, Tuesday)

After last night's episode, I'm left wondering if the reason the
original Amber Gordon left the cast was because she discovered she was
being written out of the script in a couple of weeks time and Olivia
Bernstone was then drafted in to cover Amber's final scenes.

I do know that the original Amber is making a television series. I also suspect that if Amber was not intended for the longer term then why
create the character in quite so much detail why bother to recast for a
couple of weeks (if that is what it turns out to be?). These days
covering a missing individual could be handled by discussions between
George / Will / Emma / Ed and so on without Amber's actual presence.

Although I have yet to hear what happened last night. I wonder if Daddy Gordon turning up later in the week with a shotgun pointed at George's
head for getting his daughter pregnant might be relevant?

YANAOU, I was wondering if her disappearance would be managed by a
tender reconciliation or a shotgun. There is something going wrong in
the relationship - her dismay/embarrassment at what George said (spoiler avoidance) hints at a shift in her affections. She certainly didn't
react in the way the Influamber would have done a few weeks ago. And of course, no Grundy can ever be allowed to be happy for long.

    DidnAt know of this.

IIRC Carolet flagged this up a couple of cast lists ago. Amber's alter
ego was quietly replaced. (Or maybe loudly replaced but I didn't
notice.) Come to think of it, maybe the lack of fanfare (if there was
a lack of fanfare) is another pointer towards it only being a
    temporary role.

I think Kosmo spotted the change before I did.

Only because someone flagged it up elsewhere if I remember. The change
in best friend seems aligned with the downturn in demeanour which may
just be a coincidence but unfortunate for the replacement.

I still think that Amber is here for the long term.
