Unless I have made a mistake there were 9 characters and it made the
story telling and the listening so much richer.

So many episodes now are four or five characters interacting in groups
of two with no real dynamic or cross cutting.

Tuesday night was welcome and whilst 9 is above expectation I feel the
quality has suffered since they moved away from the typical seven of yore.

These days I gather it is so many slots per week which would imply at
some point we will just have two or three characters to balance.

    Indeed.
When it was reduced to just one or two during the pandemic, it was much
the poorer. (Despite the best efforts of all concerned.)
