    Play:

Rise of the Tomb Raider (PC) - the rise in question seemingly being my
ire at playing the scaled-up postage stamp version. But as usual, I
seemed too stubborn to do the sensible thing and stop playing. :-)
(A situation no doubt entirely lacking in analogical applicability.)
And I have to say, it's been pretty good, apart from all the bad bits.
But it is also now finished. As to whether I'll further suffer the several-pixels-vision to play through the Croft Manor thing and/or do
more gratuitous collecting of stuff... not sure. Maybe.

    Want:

    Nothing.

    Bin:

Seeing a video which suggests that on a PC with lower specs than mine (apparently they do exist, my flabber was duly gasted) the later
Shadow of the Tomb Raider runs with higher fps than Rise does. I
suspect that kind of performance might not be borne out over the games
as a whole, but if generally true it would be slightly annoying in a
way, as it sounds like Shadow tends to be seen as the worst game of
    the trilogy.

    Various bits of RotTR badness:

    - Grenade spam from the baddies. I had somehow managed to forget how
silly this was in the previous game, and it's no less excessive this
time around. I get that it pushes you out of cover, but really, if
they had the resources to throw grenades forever without a care in
the world then you'd think they'd stop messing around and just, you
know, throw dozens of grenades at once or something.

    - The endgame's protracted spamming of a trebuchet gimmick - nearly as
unwelcome as my spellchecker lacking trebuchet. If nothing else you
might expect corrections to be forcefully flung at the user, as I am
of course well used to given my unreasonable hyperneologismalitedium
(for which disappointingly no flingivocacy was forthcoming).

    - Being able to stun-lock the final boss with trebuchet^Wmelee attacks
which seemed to be depicted as drawing blood, yet still having to
use the fairly nonsensical scripted approach.

Wanting to say trebuchet one more time, which probably still leaves me
with fewer instances than a certain game had.
