Seems weird for there to be new Usenet groups dedicated to 3D printing.
That's a little bit like creating daguerreotype photographs of your
    electric car.

    Play:
    --=--

Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge (ARC) - I'm calling this an arcade game
even though it's clearly a theme park attraction because it has all the virtues (such as they are) of an expensive dedicated arcade
installation. Stupid augmented reality goggles? Check. Long line of
moderately disinterested people eager to try it anyway? Check.
Completely nonsensical scoring system? Check. I rode the ride with my
kid, and we accidentally ended up in a kart unit by ourselves even
though they each nominally hold four players. We were in the upper row
of the wheelchair accessible kart, and so I was able to observe that
with no input and no player present the default score you get is 58.
You're expected to score 100 or more in order to be considered a
'winner' but they'll still take $28 from you if you want to take home a
cheap plastic trophy. We did a second run later in the day and
accidentally got sent on the opposite side of the ride, which features different enemies and a different route back to the rainbow road. If you
can stand the stupid AR glasses it's a really clever thing to see
    first-hand.

Mario Kart Arcade GP DX (ARC) - The actual arcade game, and a relative
rarity based on what I've read. My kid played against a teenager and
managed to pull off a last-minute from-behind win with a blue shell and
a clever drafting manoeuvre. I am astonished at how well he
instinctively understands things like the racing line and braking into
sharp turns even though he doesn't actually know how to name what he's
    doing yet.

    Want:
    --=--

Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy (PS5) - It's not just that
this is the first western release of the long-running RPG property, but
that the IP rights are so complicated and byzantine but the four
different companies that had some kind of stake still came together to
make it all work. I had no idea this was being released and I think that
was intentional because this game smells like something that was in
every danger of being cancelled at any moment. On the way to my house as
    we speak.

    Bin:

    Nothing gaming-related.

-KKC, who wonders if the UK Universal park will have Nintendo stuff.

I suppose you've got to have somewhere for old folks to keep on living
in the past, even if newfangled gizmos are involved. Not that I'd know
    anything about that.

    Play:

Grand Theft Auto 5 (PC) - some sandboxitude in story mode. After I'd
been doing that for a while, some random NPC settled on fisticuffs
with the non-NPC as the correct remedy for some perceived slight, to
which I provided the traditional GTA response. But that left me with a
real mess^Wmemory test - where could I find a working vending machine
to restore health in Paleto Bay? I tried the garage, the Clucking Bell
Farms place, and the place near the bank that I think you scope it out
from in a story mission... but I didn't spot anything. There's a (this
being a questionable description given the context) convenience store
on the other side of the north coast which has a vending machine
outside, but it surprised me that I couldn't think of anywhere in PB
itself. Eventually I thought of the sawmill, which is fairly close.
You may not be able to buy a can of eCola there, but it does happen to
have a free health pack for the taking if you look around enough.

So clearly this was all much more sensible than just putting up with
    having 50% health, or something.

    Want:

    Nothing.

    Bin:

GTA5's story mode having only one respawn point in the top half of the
map IIRC (hence my excessive aversion to having low health there).

Only now remembering that you can get full health near most roads in
GTA5 by just calling for an ambulance and getting in. And an ambulance
can also spawn at the PB Sheriff's Office and be used like this, which
makes not having thought to try it doubly annoying somehow. :-)
