Still looking for a replacement extractor for the kitchen.
The switch panel on our current one is almost inoperable and getting it
fixed would be almost the same cost as getting a new one.
[That is, getting someone to do it as my hands and various other joints
are banjaxed.]
The options for a 90 cm extractor to fit over the 5 burner hob are either
2 filters and a glass curved canopy to lead the smoke into the centre, or
a flat 3 filter fan.
So far we have had 2 filters and glass.
Now I am wondering which might be more effective.
Personal experience more than welcome.

I am having exactly the same problem.
My current extractor is a 45 deg Westinghouse model venting into a
disused chimney, which has been in place for ~20 years. I see that it is
still available at Screwfix. I just need to get some professional help
for the best option.
