Google is still blocking my .uk.com outgoing mail (Namesco seen as a
    bulk mail source, I think).

Any recommendations for a light use, free mail provider compatible with
    T Bird?

You might want to look at Proton mail (<https://account.proton.me/mail/signup?ref=mailhero>)

There's also gmx, but check the reviews first.

That's not meant to be .co.uk is it?

No. It's a hangover from the Demon demise. Having your own site was an
easy way of posting stuff for others to read. Namesco are still happily
taking money for something I never use:-(

I have a music group of ~200 subscribers. Google did block me when I
tried posting to all of them at once. I now post to ~40 addresses at a
time, taking care not to exceed Google's rule as to how many emails I
can post in 24 hours without being classed as spam.
I also I send them to BCC with one email to myself NOT BCC.
    Works for me,

I'm not clever enough to understand the mechanism but, around Christmas
last year, I was put on a slightly cheaper mail service but with the
same address. Perhaps a different server? at Namesco. I stopped being
able to reply to Google mails a few months back when they got tarty
    about bulk mailings.

Going back to a previous conversation about this, did you ever manage to
setup DKIM and DMARC for your domain?

(Having them tends to make google happier)

You can actually use google mail to send from your own email address.
They will probably accept that :-)

(you can also access gmail directly in Thunderbird as well if you want)

Failing that since you own the domain, you can use any mail provider you
want, although that might mean paying for a mailbox from a mail host.

    I added DKIM.

Namesco claim to be appealing this issue from their response to my last ticket.

Sadly I dropped an existing unused G Mail address to simplify mail
storage in T Bird. Perhaps that upset them!

Time for another enquiry ticket with Namesco. Can I leave my domain there?

Yup where it is hosted has no bearing on the email system it is linked
to. All of that is controlled by DNS records. The main ones being the MX records, that specify which mail exchanger(s) are being used.
