And it will still get 'teletext' on BBC channels, unlike most/all

Neighbour has a recent 43" samsung smart TV (she has no broadband!)
and when the TTX/MIX button on the remote is pressed, a
rectangular box appears in the centre of the screen saying
"Not available".
This is lie. It *is* available, I can get it on my 2019 22" Samsung
smart TV. It's just that TV manufacturers have decided to not bother
decoding it any longer, even though I am guessing it is all done in
software now anyway.
My 32" Sony, bought in 2012 (which has an analogue tuner as well as DTT)
also decodes "real" teletext subtitles for my Laserdisc operas.
I don't know what I'll do when I have to replace it; I suppose a SCART
to HDMI adapter will work, but perhaps not support the subtitles.
