Glad to be back in this great group.
Although Usenet seems to be dying out for me, I've met some good, serious people here, all willing to help.
Greetings to all,
Matt.
PD:
And thanks to USENET server for their affordable pricing and excellent customer support.

Speaking from experience (I did not go anywhere), you have not missed much.

From this lurker's POV: I'm always happy to see any activity in here provided that it isn't just dross cross-posted in. I've picked up many
good tips in this interesting group, I hope it continues.

I wonder if the perpetrators of XPs realise that most subscribers to
ucsm either killfile or ignore it. Unless I turnoff my kfs I don't see
any.

Did you go somewhere?
Did anyone notice?
They never do when *I* go quiet for a while. Unless, maybe they *do*
notice, have grand parties and simply don't invite me?

Yeah. That's what Usenet used to be all about. That and the loons
telling us that Planet Ecks is full of blue aliens coming to eat us.
Which is news we really, really need to know, of course.
Greetings to all,
Hi, Matt. Have a peaceful, happy, warmish Winter - unless you're
upside down in which case enjoy your Summer - and a lovely Christmas
when it comes in a few months.
Matt.

And thanks to USENET server for their affordable pricing and excellent
customer support.
Hmmmm ........ that's awfully close to an endorsement. Or praise. Or
just saying nice things about a Company. Do we allow that, now?
Take care, stay warm and try the mulled cider,
J.
I had stopped using Usenet because there was little to nothing left to justify
what I was paying for the service, but I received a special offer at a very low price and decided to return.

I've been using eternal-september.org for a number of years now. It is essentially f.o.c. but accepts donations. Its admin, "Ray Banana" is
very helpful too. But if you're happy with your special deal then I'm
not suggesting you change but you could always create a e-s account
as a backup should your new provider go down for an extended period.
Welcome back :)

Hi John!
It wasn't my intention to promote the server, quite the opposite, to share my >experience, since I'd been with the same company for many years without any >problems.
