I have a cheap USBc dongle with charging port and 3.5mm headphone jack
that works fine on my M1 Macbook Air - OS Sequoia 15.6.1. However, when
I plug it into my new (to me) iPad Mini 6, it is as dead as a dodo !
Mini is on OS 26.0.1. I wasn't surprised so tried another one (cheapo!)
that claimed to be "MFI Certified", that didn't work either (is OK on
the Air) - I think the seller was being economical with the truth :-)
I have started looking for something else that is genuinely MFI
Certified from companies like Anker/Belkin etc. Looking for a
mid-priced dock with a few extra ports (see below) - but they dont seem
to exist in my limited searches!
However, on the big A there are lots of reports whereby the Anker docks
seem to be working fine on various pieces of Mac kit despite not stating
that they are certified (if they were I am sure it would be shouted
loudly by the companies).
Rather than risking an expensive punt I thought I would ask here if
anyone has found a USBc dock that they know works fine on the iPad Mini
6 on the latest OS?
Ideally... the dock would have at least some of these ports
(* are essential)...
- USBc charging *
- USBc data *
- 3.5 mm headphone jack
- Lightning
- USB 3/2
- SD card
- HDMI
Thanks in advance for any input - JohnB
