RAM and increasingly now SSD prices are massively inflated due to the AI bubble. Unless you urgently need more RAM or SSD I would not be keen to buy
at inflated prices.
As with any stock market, prices may go up as well as down, and you have to decide what is the new normal and when to jump in. But just because one
brand is exiting the market should not be a reason to 'get in quick' -
others will be along to take their place.
For older Macs with upgradeable RAM, the used market is likely to be a good source of RAM - lots of old Intel Macs being scrapped now, and AI
datacentres aren't great users of DDR3 SODIMMs so the prices aren't likely
to be as bad.
