I have an asus netbook, ca 2012, which claims you can only add 2GB RAm. But 8GB is $6 and 2GB is $30. Will it just ignore anything over 2GB or can it do harm? Are there other uses for the "hidden" extra memory, ie "disk".
If the memory connector (and the style of RAM) is the same then I expect
the computer will simply ignore the extra RAM as unaddressed. Wild guess
on my part.
Why not search "Adding more RAM to ASUS (model xyz) notebook" online?
For $6 it is worth the experiment, eh?
