    Washington rCo The former leader of the far-right group the Proud Boys and other defendants convicted for crimes connected to the Jan. 6, 2021,
    assault on the U.S. Capitol are set to return to Washington, D.C., for a
    march marking five years since the attack.

    The event is billed as a memorial march honoring Ashli Babbitt and four
    others who died on or after Jan. 6.

    Among those promoting the march is Enrique Tarrio, the former head of
    the Proud Boys who was convicted of charges including seditious
    conspiracy for his role in the Jan. 6 attack and sentenced to 22 years
    in prison. Members of the cell block #2 Prison Choir are expected to
    follow suit.

    Tarrio announced the event on social media, writing on X on Dec. 22 that
    it will be a "PATRIOTIC and PEACEFUL march."

    "If you have any intention of causing trouble we ask that you stay home.
    This event will focus on one thing and one thing onlyrCaHER memory,"
    Tarrio said, referencing Babbitt.
