If you want something darker, try "Brightburn"... It retells the
origin story of Superman, except he's evil. Yes, it sounds
generic but I thought it was quite good, very effective gore.
Keep in mind it's more of a horror with superhero elements.

Noted. I did try to watch the latest Superman recently. Just couldn't
get further than 15 minutes or so. Deleted it yesterday & quick browsing through the film before it... looks that I didn't lose much by not
watching... seemed like a complete kids film.

Anyway, I'm back to serious artistic cinema for grownups nowadays...
Rewatched recently the entire Underworld series, coming to conclusion,
again, that Kate Beckinsale looks 10/10 in black leather/pvc.
Also planning to watch the latest Predator film. :)

    Dogman - 2018 Italy

This is a remarkably moving and sad film. Not sentimental, by any means.

Saw it on a plane. Decent way to kill 2 hours. Kinda drags, but the concept of what kind of baby Stretch and Sue can make was pretty cool. Villains weren't bad, either.

    Diverging...

What do you make of the Sydney Sweeney phenomenon, fellow-readers?

    I'd hit it.

It's a really well-handled (no pun) instance of very carefully timed
exposure. I first heard of her thru that flap about the jeans
commercial, wondering "WTF?", and saw it was pretty much a tempest in a teapot.

But then she keeps turning up on late night shows, etc.--like she *is* somebody, and really, what she is a sexy girl next door type--is not
drop-dead beautiful like some actresses. She requires to be properly
made up, or she's pretty ordinary.

...except for those world class bazooms, which are artfully on display.

So I looked up her work on IMDB and find that *until* she did soft-core
porn movies a few years back, she was mostly little more than an extra.
In one of my favorite cult films, "Under the Silver Lake"--sort of a
cross between a Marlowe film, Slacker, and Blue Velvet--she was
    essentially a walk-on escort girl.

Very careful and well-managed career path for a limited career span,
    plus nothing else special.

Now back to enjoying the prize-wining rack...
