  • Oceanian women's nations Cup 2025

    This one flew under the radar! Isn't it supposed to be played next year? I didn't even know it was this year!

    It was played in Fiji in July!

    American Samoa, New Caledonia and New Zealand did not participate. I have no idea why!

    Solomon Islands beat Papua New Guinea in the final, 3-2 after extra time.

    Does that mean Solomon Islands have qualified for the World Cup?

    Apparently not. As with South America and Africa (or is it Asia?), they're playing a separate qualifying tournament for the World Cup.

    Why are continents moving away from using their continental Championships as qualifiers for the Women's World Cup? It seems to have been working OK.
