It took a lot of money to keep her quiet...

It also pretty much killed the movie very quickly, I think.

By February 1978 the "Renaldo and Clara" film seemed to be completely
unknown in big cities such as Atlanta, where my wife Kathy, Paul D.
Wilson and I spent an evening back then trying to find a theater showing
    it.

It wasn't until around 1988-89 until I found a bootleg copy on VHS.

    Spectacular film, though.

I know the film did seem to blend reality and fiction to a possibility uncomfortable level.

My VHS bootleg tape was the entire four hour film, but j always wanted
to see the later two hour edit Dylan cut after Sara apparently
    complained.

    Nice! What does Clay do?

I wasn't able to see the film again yet, but Clay is in one of the crowd scenes, there's an action playing an Allen Ginsberg look alike in there
as well for a quick second, in the crowd.

The freezer frame function will come in handy with this movie.

As for a sequel, John Lennon could appear:

Bob Dylan put it well, no actor can catch that thin wild mercury he
    possesses:

Can you imagine getting all hyped up, going to the movie theater, only

Definitely true that so many details were skipped or blurred in the
    film.

Now that it's coming out on DVD soon I look forward to getting in some
    deeper viewing.
