It used to be DnD was kinda niche, instead you now have immersive DnD experiences.
I haven't actually tried any of these, and I don't really feel the need
to do so, but I find it interesting how the game has arrived in the mainstream.

God, that makes me feel so... sad, I guess. To see the game
homogenized into what is effectively a theme park experience. D&D's
magic was that it was always such a personal adventure, something that
you and your friends created together. But this is a guided tour with
about as much mystery and wonder as a choose-your-own-adventure book.
It feels like a betrayal of everything the game is about.

Fortunately, it's in Texas, which is a place I'm never visiting again,
so there's no chance I'll ever be dragged to this 'immersive quest'.

Hey now, don't @ choose your own adventure!

North Texas RPG Con is tempting for me to go there. Old School con, Some
of the old TSR Alumni have gone there, I know Jim Ward did when he was
alive, Chris Holmes (son of the writer of Original Basic) and others.

I was in Texas with my grandparents when I was >5 I don't remember
anything other than the smell of the oil fields/refineries. I don't
remember it, but I couldn't play outside either because of the number of poisonous snakes. My Grandpa told the story of mowing the lawn and
having bits of snake from that several times. Somewhere around Huston or Galveston.

I'm only looking for news articles and post the ones that I find at
least interesting. (There's lots of "These 8 classes are the best for beginners" cruft on a lot of these pages)

God, I know. In an attempt to be a Kyonshi myself, I've tried looking
for D&D news-sources, and most everything I've found is that sort of AI-generated click-bait slop (either that or just advertorials
pushing the latest product release).* Actual discussion is hard to
find. To get that one article I posted the other day I think I went
through ten different "D&D" sites, skimming god-knows how many
    articles.

But you've had better luck finding stuff than I do so I think you just
    know better sites ;-)

But it doesn't help that WOTC and Hasbro have gone pretty quiet on the
brand either. Then again, so many of their recent announcements have
blown up in their face I'm not surprised if they're a bit camera-shy
    ;-)

    * also, I'm picky with the articles. I want something that might
trigger actual responses, and they should have some relevance to me as
    well.
