My delightful sense of humor does not precede me. I've been using a
pressure cooker since I was a kid. They can be scary but they're also
pretty safe. The recall notice didn't give any detail on how the lid
can be removed under pressure. Pressure cookers and the new
multi-cookers come with interlocks that prevent the lid from being
removed while it's working. My guess is that it's just another scam.

The most awesome part of the new multi-cookers is that they don't
make a sound while it's cooking under pressure. Well, that's the way
that mine works. It's such a pleasure to pressure cook without the
noise of the pressure being regulated by venting steam. Beats me how
that works but it probably increases the efficiency of the cookers. I
suppose some people find that sound to be cheerful somehow. Now I
want somebody to invent a low pressure oven. That would be cool,
maybe.

My delightful sense of humor does not precede me. I've been using
a pressure cooker since I was a kid. They can be scary but
they're also pretty safe. The recall notice didn't give any
detail on how the lid can be removed under pressure. Pressure
cookers and the new multi-cookers come with interlocks that
prevent the lid from being removed while it's working. My guess
is that it's just another scam. Of course, you should probably
not let your idiot brother-in-law near those things.

That would be cool,
maybe.
I need to make a dish in your honor...

Just a few months ago there was a threat about the safety
issues with pressure cookers.
Pressure cookers are way too dangerous for Americans. The
multi-cooker is the most dangerous/scary product in this
country
- exceptin', of course, the automobile!
Why is it so dangerous IYO??

I told AI they were short ribs cooked in a pressure cooker. It said
this:
<quote>
It's a thick, shiny, amber-orange liquid pooled around the meat, which
is typical of Asian-inspired or citrus-braised short rib recipes made
in a pressure cooker.

There's all kinds of short ribs. I said "American style" for a reason. Here's a
Chinese style of preparation: It's not made in a pressure cooker. It is not Korean
style short ribs. Your AI buddy is not really your friend, or rather, you're not
asking it the right questions. I don't know what Asian-inspired short ribs are. It
could be anything.

It said a lot more. This was only the start. I believe it said
something about ginger. Maybe that was the Asian influence. But you
always have to be careful, of course. AI can start hallucinating.

Make a heckuva chicken soup!
My wife has to stay away from solid food until tomorrow. I put some Knorr Chicken
Bouillon in some hot water and served it to her. I was afraid that she wouldn't
want to drink the stuff but she thought it was very tasty. That's very good news
for me. I use the stuff for cooking but never thought that you could drink it!
