Chocolate-chip cookies today. The dough is in the fridge and the
    oven is preheating.

We like a chewy cookie, so we melt the butter rather than creaming
it. And underbake the cookies just a tad.

I agree with you about a chewy cookie. Never did care for crunchy
    chocolate chip cookies.

i will raid when Mom is making cookies and on days of
weakness that can be a few cookies worth and then yes
when cleaning up afterwards i do get scrapings if i
want them, but a lot of times she's made several other
kinds of cookies too so some of those doughs aren't as
good as chocolate chip or molasses (both that i like
the best as compared to the shortbread ones which the
dough isn't as good, but if she's done chocolate chip
shortbread i can pick the chocolate chips out if there's
    any that have escaped).

she happens to be making some cookies and pies this
morning and i could raid if i wanted to yet this morning
i seem to have more resistance or perhaps i'm just feeling
particularly lazy and don't want to get up. :)
