We are members of the British Commonwealth. When Britain went to war
against Germany in WW I & II they had massive support from their
Commonwealth partners. Commonwealth troops augmented British troops by
more than three million. The Commonwealth countries also provided the
British with supplies and training facilities. More than 130,000 air
crew got their training in Canada.

The Canadian, Australian and New Zealand air forces all contributed
plans, pilots and air crew to the RAF. FWIW, my father was in the RCAF
and served on ground crew with a Canadian squadron. When he remustered
to air crew he served first with a New Zealand squadron and was later transferred to an RAF squadron. They also showed appreciation to him
for his efforts. When we took his ashes to be buried alongside his crew
it was the British military embassy to got involved and turned it into a
    major event.

Most of the cheap thrills for the trolls is the attention they hope to
get from people who read their nonsense. It is not as much fun for them

The last I heard it was not for sale. Neither is Greenland. I
wonder if he will stop making those demands if we let him have
    the Sudatenland.

How did that work out the last time?

When Kuthe called me a narcissist, he was projecting. When you

You're a lazy, shitty cook. Now that Wertz is gone, the only ones
left who seem to put much effort into cooking are Dave and
myself, and Jill kind of. She gets a bit of a pass because she's

    Nor is it problematic.

When someone is working full time, there's over 40 hours less free time.
That justifies some shortcuts, though nothing justifies canned menudo.

When I was still working, I bought bagged egg noodles. I bought canned
soup. I still buy the occasional frozen pizza, but back then, frozen was
the norm. I still keep canned refried beans around for a last minute
decision, but they aren't as good as made from dried, so I don't use
them often. I bought a lot of Sausage McMuffins on my way to work. A
couple of weeks ago I decided, no more frozen spinach. It's not that
much extra effort to use fresh. I had a semi-annual checkup Tuesday, and
I told my doctor that if it weren't for the oxalic acid, that I might
eat spinach every day. She replied that you don't want kidney stones.

Boil fresh spinach in plenty of water. Drain well. Push almost all of
the water out. Turn out onto a cutting board to chop. Put heavy cream
and a pinch of sodium citrate into a pot. Re-add spinach, heat to hot,
while thoroughly mixing spinach and cream. Add shredded cheese. I
usually use Monterey Jack, but often add a second cheese as well. Keep stirring and stirring over heat until a creamy texture is achieved.
Someone once asked me what you dip into it. I replied, "A fork."
