Anything special tonight at your house to start off the New Year?

Refried beans--canned beans in the blender, then prepared with rendered
beef fat from last week's tenderloin. They were topped with the leftover queso dip. I added some Fire Sauce to mine. We should have beans and
cheese way more often, since we both agree that we could happily eat
that every day. I should start making them in quantity and refrigerating them. They're very labor intensive to make, but are just as good left
over, which is very easy. When I was 21, I moved in with my late sister
and her kids. She always had refried beans in the fridge. It was their staple food.

I brown diced garlic in olive oil, and throw the pinto beans on top to
simmer. Eventually they are mashed down into a paste with a masher and regular stirring. Unless I've been doing it wrong, it's not terribly
labor intensive, and there's always some left in the fridge for later.
