I have 525 miles so far.

Today I rode the Colnago, and it made it VERY clear that the Marin is simply too slow handling for me. My control is limited by my slowed reaction time so I need a faster handling bike.

So the Marin will go up for sale along with the Paramount 564. I will keep the triple stuff and leave the Moser as a double but with an XTR long arm derailler which will allow me to put larger cassettes on the back. The Basso Loto presently has a 34-36 low gear and I will replace the cranks and with the triple giving me a 30-36 triple.

The Loto is pretty heavy and that will give me a crawling along climbing gear. The wheels and the rest of the stuff will come off of the Fondriest and the frame will go on Craigslist. This will give me 6 full bikes and 1 frameset for sale and leave me with the Colnago, the Time, the Basso Loto, the DeRosa Merak and the Moser M82 for riding bikes. I would lik to get back to climbing again but I will need some pretty powerful bikexs to work off the extra 20 lbs I picked up from the stroke.

I managed to have a 10.5 mph average speed today without ever going over the 109 (80% HR) mrik except on the final climb 4 miles from home. This is not a real climb bur a 125 foot hish bump on the bike trail, both directions have more or less the same grade with a climb up a landfill bump. I hit 129 bpm on the way back. My max is 139. My speed was low enough that I didn't stress my 85 year old riding partner and he suggested a pretty difficult gravel ride on Tuesday. He also knows several longer rides that we can do on the gravel.

Sunday, my averqge was a half mph less.I think was because I didn't pump up the 32 mm tires. You ccouldn't tell that they were a little low except for the speed. These wide tires have to have exactly the correct pressure or they generate a lot of drag, Another reason to use 28's

I have a good mind to get a cyclocross bike again. The distances around Lake Chabot isn't very far but it is a real test. And using 38 mm tires is a good excuse for going slow.
Did a fairly easy ride today until on the way back I mwas overtaken by one of our group. Then my heart rate went from Zone 3 to the 90%+ region. Also, the Garmin simply is screwing up big time putting todays's thursday ride in with the Tuesday ride. It added today's ride to the Tuesday ride instead of making a separate Thursday ride. I did an erase and reset since I got the idea that memory was probably getting scrambled.Less than half a month and despite the rain, I have half of last month's milage,
