Getting old aint easy. I've been hit with a number of health problems
this past couple of years. My neuropathy has gotten much worse, my
hearing has deteriorated along with my vertigo related balance issues. Psoriasis and the related psoriatic arthritis have gotten worse.
In late December, I had tightness in my chest that the hospital
thought was a mild heart attack. A cardiologist checkup says it was
not a heart attack, but since I'd quit taking stuff to help me sleep
that also reduced my blood pressure, my blood pressure went higher and
now I've been prescribed blood pressure meds. The blood pressure meds
create problems of their own, and coupled with that, I've twice now in
the last month had bladder infections.
I'd planned a ride for today, but now with the new bladder infection,
I'll pass, since the infection can creep up into the kidneys. I'm
three weeks into 2026 and only have two 40 mile rides.
On the brighter side, without the sleeping meds, I feel more energetic
during the day, and I've managed to at least return to the sleeping
patterns I had while taking the stuff.
