• Today could tell

Today on the indoor trainer for possible the first time I could fell the
left leg getting back some more normal strength after the crash. I was
able to stand to pedal a little and not feel so out of sync. I managed
to get the power up to 270 watts short period of time. I could do more
but no sense really on a 32 mile aerobic session.

For a brief moment I have thought about possibly going out to ride in
the spring when weather is better. At this point it is fantasy in some
sense but mostly because if something happens I will have many non
cycling friends write me off as stupid.

Good news. Two months ago you despaired of even this, but
your daily routine has showed great returns!

    All the bast.

I can also tell today the walking is less of a chore. Really I am not in
pain walking at all but just all off balance and feel like I am
struggling to just walk straight without a lot of waddling. I avoided
going places that require too much on some days. I would go to the store
for groceries and pushing the cart helps. I would even use my walker to
go into store because is was faster and balancing walking was too hard.
Today I actually wanted and thought about a Walmart trip to get few
items but actually nothing I have to have. But in the end just the
thought I could do it was great.

It is like the old dodge of riding or running. If you choose to take of
a day and do nothing or rest that is ok. But if you cannot because you
have some aches and pains then you want to ride, I am just say yes I
gonna ride. I am old now but my mind still thinks it is in it youth.

After my hands were crushed, there were many things I could
no longer do at all and many I could do only clumsily and
    others only with great pain.

Six months in, I could do some light wrench work. Nine
months in I could shoot a .22 pistol. Now 4-1/2 years on the
limits are small (not zero). Some fingers will never
recover full range of movement but what I have is enough.

    Take heart, it gets better.

This crash was the game changer in the sense of many things but it did
not effect my guitar playing at all. I have full playing ability and everything works. I feel incredibly blessed. In fact the past few days I
have been playing the Tune Moose the Mooch, a very fast and complicated
bebop tune to play. The melody is intricate and off beat as that is
bebop. The soloing though is over the Rhythm Changes so that is actually easier. You can solo through the tune even if you cannot cut the tempo
melody with in unison with say a saxiphone. Listen to it here and let me
tell you it takes someone with serious skills to get through it well. I
could cut the tune and tempo here but I would not want blow on for more
    than 2 choruses. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=moose%20the%20mooche&view=detail&mid=1CB205D6718F73C3BA6F1CB205D6718F73C3BA6F&ajaxhist=0
