The cop interrogating him insists that he has no problem with the man >wearing Star of David anywhere else but is only objecting to the fact
that he is doing it in proximity to a pro-Palestine demonstration. Even
if that's true - and I'm skeptical - it is only a short step from there
to arresting people for wearing a Star of David or Kippah or prayer
shawl anywhere else in public. After all, the Jew could - and likely
would - encounter Muslims or other anti-Semites anywhere and they could >certainly be offended by that, which might well justify an arrest.
How long then until the presence of synagogues or other Jewish
properties are deemed offensive to the "community" and eligible for
legal sanctions? And, of course, it could easily go farther yet.

The cop goes on to allege that the Jewish man came close to the >pro-Palestinian demonstration deliberately as a provocation, saying he'd >been warned repeatedly not to go there. That's a bit trickier and puts a >different complexion on things, suggesting it was not a chance thing
that he just happened to be in the neighbourhood but was trying to stir >things up and maybe even get a beating (or worse), perhaps to show the >impotence of the police in protecting Jews or something like that. Or
maybe the cop was just inventing all of that to justify the arrest.

Wherever these vermin infest, wearing any jew shit publicly should be
a criminal offense. Wearing a yarmulke should be banned in public as
should any of those asinine outfits they wear.

    You ARE joking right?

Because in civilized countries you do have the right to wear what you
will subject to public decency rules. (ie. don't go to the soccer game
    naked)

There was a recent UK situation where an exhibition soccer game
between an Israeli team and a well known British team was cancelled
due to fears of violence from the Muslim community and it turns out
the police chief responsible for the cancellation claimed to have
'consulted the community' which when pressed turned out to be ONLY the
local Imams council who told the police if the game wasn't cancelled
    there would be violence.

To which the proper response is "If there is violence there will be
arrests." You don't give in to those sort of threats.

That's extortion, an actual crime. If HG's paraphrase was accurate, the speaker's words condemned him. Use the threat of arrest to force the
local leaders of the religion of peace to make statements both publicly
and directly to congregants that there must be no violence.
