    Hi Denizens of sf.written,
This is an older book in the series which for some reason I did not read earlier despite my enthusiasm for the Laundry Files. This introduces
our protagonist, Bob Howard, as a action nerd who saves several lives by killing a fool. Then he is sent to California where he meets "Mo" who
will become his lady love. Then off to a dying universe where he thwarts
a big energy eater and rescues Mo with the help of a commando team.
Then he crushes with help a scheme to make the surveillance cameras
termination camera as well. Angelton becomes his boss and he is
taxed with hard work and tested constantly
This book has a foreword by Mcleod and an afterword by
Stross on the subject of horror stories and spies.

Everyone who likes Bob in other stories should read this.
I got my copy at the San Francisco Public Library in the SF section
but it should be available in many formats at reasonable prices.

    bliss
