I have recently discovered Wilson Tucker's work and am surprised I had
not
encountered him before and that so little of his material has been
reprinted.
His "The Year of the Quiet Sun" was an ace special, and his "The Lincoln Hunters" was some sort of retro-special. "The Long Loud Silence" is a post-plague disaster novel which is approximately 1400 pages shorter
than "The Stand". "The Warlock" is a cold-war novel with SF elements.
I've fond memories of all of them.

"The Year of the Quiet Sun" was nominated for both the Nebula and Hugo
Awards. It has been on my short list to find at a used book store for
many years.[1,2]

[1] Alas, no luck yet.
[2] Yes, yes, I could just find it online, but what's the fun in that?
