Mark R. Leeper passed away on February 22, 2025.

My condolences too.
Happily, PANIX retains USENET articles long enough
for me to have read it in June.

In 1978, Mark and his wife founded
the science fiction club at Bell Laboratories in New Jersey,
which existed until their retirement in 2001,
and then continued to produce THE MT VOID

I remember getting your print edition while at
AT&T SF (Summit Facility, NJ).
I think you posted many AT&T "in jokes"
such as SAD: Swing Awareness Day,
to celebrate the swing set and playground
at the HO Holmdel (or MT: Middletown?) AT&T facility.

I particularly remember your hospitality
at you home for a Thanksgiving
"turkey film fest" of all Ed Wood movies.
Truly memorable for many fun and silly reasons.

I hope you remain active with this community.
We love you, honor what you've done
and cherish the joy you & Mark created.
