I knew quite a few people in London (back in the day) that
thought "Red Dwarf" was the best thing on the TV. It was
very popular.
On reflection, it is quite possible that those people would

No, liking "Blake's 7" would have completed the BBC sci-fi
trifecta.
"The Goodies" was just comedy, so that would have been part of
a different trifecta...

That works.
Doctor Who - Blake's 7 - Red Dwarf makes sense.
"The Goodies" was just comedy, so that would have been

And then ther are the Goons.
The Goons would be part of a BBC radio comedy trifecta, as in...
The Goons - The Navy Lark - Round the Horne
(I like this game.)

No. It's none of those.
It's just "Survivors"... and it was created by Terry Nation
and aired on BBC1 in the mid-1970's.
The BBC did try and resurrect it but it wasn't successful. But,
Big Finish have continued the series on audio.

I'm guessing that should have been just "Survivors" (no "The"), which
has been made twice.
The first time in 1975 by Terry Nation (Doctor Who's Dalek creator). ><https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072572/>
Then again in 2008, starring Julie Graham (The Bletchley Circle,
