My part of Regional Victoria, Australia, has been without T.V.
transmissions for the last 48 hours (yes, over two days) due to a
Bushfire taking out a T.V. Relay station (or the power feed to it), so
I've been making good use of this 'down time' by re-watching all the DoctorChristopher Episodes of 'Doctor Who'.

Signal still out .... so on with DoctorDavid and the Christmas Invasion!!

(or should I change to Red Dwarf .... or Startrek??)

Currently watching "School Reunion" and it just struck me ..... When The Doctor assumes an alter-ego, he (often) uses the name John Smith, and,

Nooo! Doctor Who all the way!

At least you still got electricity, and not minus Celsius degrees, with
    snow. :))

My remote control finally broke completely on the evening of the
22.12.2025, I didn't feel like blindly pressing some buttons on the back
side of the TV every time (never mind having to stand up for that). So I
just pushed browser with TV stuff onto the TV via HDMI, some channels
even live. (It's already connected, I watch channel's mediathek stuff
that way. Finding live broadcasts on the internet of the channels I
    watch was new.)

Btw, had a new remote on 29.12.2025 at noon. :) (Thanks online
    shopping!)

Absolutely. Most series need a season or two to find their footing

    Yeah.

At least you still got electricity, and not minus Celsius degrees,
    with snow. :))

Yeap .... and how bloody useless would my Solar Batteries be if I
    didn't have mains Electricity available??

I don't know, are they big enough to run a computer?

My remote control finally broke completely on the evening of the
22.12.2025, I didn't feel like blindly pressing some buttons on the
back side of the TV every time (never mind having to stand up for
    that).

My problem is "Which Remote do I want??"

I wanted the same as before, for the TV.

The Remote for my SD T.V. interfered with my PVR's operation ... so
for many years my T.V. remote remained alongside the T.V. and I used
the PVR Remote for most things.

I don't know what PVR is.

But the new HD T.V. Remote doesn't interfere with the PVR so I've got
two Remotes next to me .... and have to actually think which one I
    actually want to use.

Used to be similar here when I still had a working VHS recoder/player.

    Did them today.

During Martha's series (was it "Gridlock"), we see the Death of The

I wanted the same as before, for the TV.

The Remote for my SD T.V. interfered with my PVR's operation ... so
for many years my T.V. remote remained alongside the T.V. and I used
the PVR Remote for most things.

I don't know what PVR is.

But the new HD T.V. Remote doesn't interfere with the PVR so I've got
two Remotes next to me .... and have to actually think which one I
    actually want to use.

Used to be similar here when I still had a working VHS recoder/player.

    Get a combo VHV/DVD player / recorder .

Nooo! Doctor Who all the way!

Watched 'Doctor Who' until Rose left (for the first time) then
switched to 'Red Dwarf' series Four and Five .... then it'll be back
to 'Doctor Who' for Christmas with Donna Noble then Martha Jones
(Why didn't she get more series??)

    Did them today.

During Martha's series (was it "Gridlock"), we see the Death of The
Face of Bo .... and then, in Martha's last Ep ("Last of The
Timelords"), as he's running off to rejoin Torchwood, Captain Jack
says that he was 'The Face of Bo' in a marketing campaign way back
    when.

Did Captain Jack have one or ninety-seven thousand face lifts between
this episode and his becoming 'The Face of Bo'??

    Face lift?

I figure it was just millions of years in between. And as he got older, >things got weird and only the face was left?

Bye-the-Bye, today my sister (who also lives locally so is enduring
the ongoing T.V. outage) was at her local Doctors and the
receptionist there said she had heard that this outage might last
another two or three WEEKS .... cause the technician that should fix
this problem is on (Christmas/New Year/School) holidays!! ;-(

    Ugh!

But rumours... Better check sources with more than that. :)

Currently watching Red Dwarf Series Six!!

    Enjoy. :)

Always to to have a collection.

I never took Cpt Jack's claim seriously. I assumed it was
just one of RTD's stupid attempts at humour. I don't think
Cpt Jack did become the 'Face of Boe'.

    I thought he was.

I was reading online that the Aussies have called in some
specialist technicians from an overseas tech company to sort
    out your TV outage issues.

You'll be pleased to know that the representatives from
NotKnow Inc, Edmonton, Alberta, are due to fly into Melbourne
    tomorrow...

What? Are they going to tell them that they need to retcon their
    TV infrastructure?

    Like Villa Park's INfrastructure?

They will spend days searching for the location of the 33.6K modem and
    the analogue phone line
