    Interesting to read <https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2025/10/29/zohran-mamdanis-unlikely-coalition-winning-over-nycs-jewish>
that, among New York Jews, Zohran Mamdani is the favoured candidate to
    win the New York Mayoralty.

For those who assume that support for Zionism and the atrocities that
the state of Israel is committing in pursuit of that project must be
universal among Jews -- it never was, and certainly isnrCOt now.

Beth Miller, political director of the political advocacy organisation
Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) Action and a member of Kolot Chayeinu
    synagogue in Brooklyn:

rCLWhile itrCOs true that there are major trends that younger American
Jews are more progressive and sympathetic to Palestinians, itrCOs
also true that for as long as Zionism has existed, there have been
anti-Zionist Jews. I learned a lot from elders who were in their
70s, 80s and 90s who have been anti-Zionist since Israel was
created because they never felt that what they wanted or needed
was an ethnostate to represent them.rCY

I also like this quote, from Jonathan Boyarin, anthropologist and Mann professor of modern Jewish studies at Cornell University:

rCLItrCOs been said that there are two kinds of people who confuse
    anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism: Zionists and anti-Semites. I donrCOt
think Zohran Mamdani belongs in either of those categories.rCY

The Jewish vote is not monolithic. I'm sure that there are some who do
support Mandami and some like Cuomo, while others support Sliwa

That point was made in the article.

Polls were showing Mamdani as the most popular.
